Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s Generation Good Emerging Leaders (GenG) Board has announced its committee chairs for the inaugural 2024-2025 year. This dynamic group of young professionals is dedicated to advancing Goodwill’s mission of helping individuals overcome employment challenges through leadership, service, and advocacy. 

Inaugural Committee Chairs:

Cody Mosely | The Boldt Company

Steering Committee Chair

Cody serves as Director of Business Development at The Boldt Company’s Oklahoma City office, one of 18 locations nationwide. A Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) since 2021, he has played a key role in regional and national economic development, serving as Chair of the Greater OKC Chamber’s Regional Economic Development Partnership and leading the International Economic Development Council’s Higher Ed Advisory Committee.
He holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Mid-America Christian University and a master’s in public administration from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Outside work, Cody enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two daughters, exploring new places, or cherishing everyday moments. The family lives in Edmond, OK.

Steering Vice Chair

Sophia Massad is the founder and owner of Ultramodern Creative, specializing in public relations, marketing, social media management, and content creation. A 2024 NextGen Under 30 honoree, she is recognized for her leadership in media and marketing.
Beyond her professional work, Sophia is a passionate artist and model, often found performing on local stages. She is also proud to serve as Vice-Chair of Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s GenG Steering Committee, where she combines her love for thrift and sustainable fashion with her commitment to helping the community.

Marianne Edwards | UCO Student Advocacy 

Steering Committee Treasurer

Marianne Edwards is the Director of the Office of Student Advocacy at the University of Central Oklahoma, where she is dedicated to helping students navigate challenges and achieve success. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre from UCO in 2010 and a Master of Education in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Oklahoma in 2021. Marianne is a passionate performer and dancer outside her professional work, frequently appearing in local community theater productions. She is also proud to serve as Treasurer for Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s GenG Emerging Leaders Board, where she combines her love for the arts, advocacy, and community impact.

Emma McKinney | Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits

Steering Committee Secretary

Emma McKinney is the Executive Assistant and Board Liaison at the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, where she plays a key role in supporting and uplifting Oklahoma’s nonprofit sector. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Spanish from the University of Oklahoma in 2021 and completed her Nonprofit Management Certification from OKCNP in 2024.
Beyond her dedication to nonprofit work, Emma is passionate about field hockey as a player and a coach. She is also proud to serve as the inaugural Secretary of Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s GenG Steering Committee, where she combines her leadership skills with her commitment to community impact.

Membership Chair

Ashley Melchert is a Senior Account Executive at Candor, where she brings her expertise as an award-winning public relations and marketing professional. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2017. Passionate about sustainable fashion, Ashley loves discovering the perfect vintage find. She is proud to serve as the Membership Committee Chair for Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s GenG Steering Committee, where she combines her communications expertise with her commitment to community impact. Outside work and volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her husband and traveling.

Ashley is a dedicated project manager with a skill for strategic communication and problem-solving. With extensive experience in creative and digital project management, she excels in coordinating cross-functional teams and driving projects from concept to completion. Ashley is passionate about continuous learning and effective teamwork, and she is committed to delivering quality results that align with organizational goals.

Sierra Abbott | Hearts for Hearing Foundation

Advocacy Chair

Sierra Abbott is the Director of Development at Hearts for Hearing, where she works to empower children with hearing loss to listen and speak. In 2019, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma and became a CFRE-certified fundraising professional in 2023. A member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, she was recognized as a 2024 NextGen Under 30 award winner for her contributions to the nonprofit sector.
As the parent of a special needs child, Sierra’s advocacy began at home and grew into a passion for amplifying the voices of others. She proudly serves as the Committee Chair for Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s GenG Advocacy Committee, using her expertise to create meaningful community impact.

Alicia Merrick | Service Oklahoma

Mission Chair

Alicia Merrick is the Employee Engagement Manager at Service Oklahoma, fostering a positive and engaging workplace culture. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications (2017), a Paralegal Studies certification (2022), and a Master of Energy and Natural Resources Law (2023) from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
A two-time NextGen Under 30 award winner (2023, 2024), Alicia has been recognized for her contributions to policy, public service, and the nonprofit sector. She also received the Crowe & Dunlevy B. Jo Balding Scholarship for her academic achievements in law.
Passionate about giving back, Alicia serves as the Mission Chair for Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s GenG Emerging Leaders Board and is actively involved in numerous community organizations. Among her many volunteer commitments, she enjoys spending time with her partner and proudly earning her title as the world’s best aunt.

Also known as GenG, the Generation Good program is designed to mentor and engage the next generation of leaders, empowering them to support Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s mission. Through volunteer service, philanthropy, and community development, GenG members play a crucial role in helping individuals overcome barriers to employment

GenG board members participate in a structured leadership curriculum that enhances their nonprofit and governance skills while providing an inside look at Goodwill’s operations and services. By applying their unique perspectives, they help engage a diverse range of supporters, particularly millennials and Gen Z leaders who are passionate about sustainability, criminal justice reform, and workforce development

Upcoming Engagement Opportunities: 

The inaugural 2024-2025 GenG Board will host an in-person engagement event during National Goodwill Week, May 5th-11th, 2025. This will be an opportunity to connect with board members, learn more about Goodwill’s impact, and explore ways to get involved. 

Additionally, board applications will open in March 2025 for new members interested in joining Generation Good. Be on the lookout for more announcements!
