Are you holding on to clothing that you haven’t worn in a few years? Maybe it’s time to say goodbye to that sundress you haven’t worn in a while or give those shorts collecting dust a new home. This is the perfect opportunity to take out the old and make room for the new! As you move your summer wardrobe into storage, take a few minutes to look through everything in your closet and donate the items you won’t wear next season to your local Goodwill Attended Donation Center.

Follow these tips for a successful closet clean out:

  1. Put it on your calendar and plan to dedicate a few hours to your clean out
  2. Put on a good playlist that will keep you entertained and motivated
  3. Empty your whole closet
  4. Sort your clothes into three piles: Keep, Maybe and Donate
  5. Box or bag up your donate pile and head to Goodwill

Donate to Goodwill

Donating your items to Goodwill is easy. When you arrive, a donation attendant will greet you and help unload your donations. Goodwill happily accepts clothing items, shoes, boots, jewelry, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, books, records, videos, DVDs, games, toys, sports equipment, houseware items, collectibles, tools, linens, electronics, furniture and even cars!

Your local donations help the community by generating revenue to support essential job training and placement services for people with disabilities and disadvantages and provide the local business community with motivated workers, trained in the fields where jobs exist.
