Connect with Local Staffing Agencies

Local staffing agencies can also be a great resource for senior job seekers. They usually offer access to a wide range of job opportunities and can help match your skills and experience with the right employer. The Employment Services Center at Goodwill is also a great place to start. Not only can our employment services assistants connect you directly with local employers, they can also assess your unique circumstances and provide recommendations for trainings or courses that might benefit your employment aspirations.

Embrace Technology

Digital skills are essential when it comes to keeping up or advancing in the professional environment. This can present as a challenge for some seniors when seeking employment if they aren’t quite familiar with the world of technology. Consider taking classes or online courses to enhance your tech skills. Courses like Computer Basics or Workplace Computer Skills at Goodwill are designed for learners who want to increase viability in a competitive employment market, retain employment, or for those who want to learn new skills to help them adapt to a more digital working environment. This will not only make you more attractive to potential employers but also increase your confidence!

Showcase Your Achievements

Don’t underestimate the value of your experience and accomplishments! Be sure to highlight your achievements in your resume and during job interviews.
