YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PREPARATION PROGRAM (YEPP)

About

Goodwill’s Youth Employment Preparation Program (YEPP) is designed to help at-risk youth obtain job and life skills that lead to better opportunities and decisions beyond high school completion.

Anyone 14-20 years old can sign up for the 2-week program. We work with disadvantaged youth from the foster care system, homeless youth, those involved with juvenile justice, and youth in poverty-stricken areas. This FREE program is geared toward serving a vulnerable population and supporting Oklahoma youth in providing both life and job skills, so they have an opportunity to earn while they learn. College is not an option for every child, and some have no idea what they want to do when they grow up. Our program is designed to help kids have viable skills so that if college is not an immediate option, they can still earn a living wage with an in-demand skill for our market.

GOOD JOBS

We don’t just teach you about work. We will actually hire you as a Goodwill employee through one of our job openings! There’s another option to sign up for an internship at Goodwill.

PRE-APPRENTICESHIP

We offer five apprenticeship tracks to help you set up a solid foundation with the skills you need to succeed.

CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING

You’ll earn micro-credentials throughout our program and get the training you need to jumpstart a brighter future!

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

All program participants who successfully complete our YEPP track will graduate and receive a certificate of completion.

Once the initial courses are completed, students will participate in the following

Employment Track options:

Unpaid Internship

Our unpaid interns will learn valuable life skills and will work with the Job Connection Center team doing administrative tasks and more.

Goodwill Store Associate Temporary Part-Time Employment

Once the intern completes their unpaid internship, they may be accelerated to part-time employment as a Goodwill Store Associate. The employee must work a total of 6 weeks to graduate and move to the next step in our program.

Pre-apprenticeship

At this point in our program, individuals will learn construction trades such as HVAC, plumbing, bricklaying, electrical and more!
